The NEXUS® Boom has proven very successful for many vehicle types, however on occasions special modifications are required to suit a specific vehicle. In addition to the standard NEXUS® Boom configurations, we are able to accommodate all vehicle applications. Case Studies

Car Transporter

As well as routing the main air and electrical services along the NEXUS® Boom, with this application the hydraulic pressure and return lines that operate the car decks were included. Modifications to the bearing arrangement was made to accommodate for the additional weight of the hydraulic lines. Further modification was made to the distribution plate, located at the end of the NEXUS® Boom, to allow the hydraulic hoses to be positioned correctly.

Tanker specialist application

In this application the NEXUS® Boom specification looked closely at the safety issues involved with tanker operation. The NEXUS® Boom carries the air and electrical services as normal, but the tanker connections were re-positioned at a convenient height on the nearside of the vehicle. This allowed the driver to connect and disconnect in comfort without having to climb on to the catwalk which was the normal procedure.
